We’re excited to share a collection of videos from the AHOY! European Social Web Day, held in Hamburg on April 24, 2025.

Special thanks to Sebastian Korphman () for organizing AHOY! and generously sharing these videos with us.

Were following the pattern of our AtmosphereConf 2025 videos, where we'll post each one to a leaflet with full transcripts for accessibility and searchability, and for now* the videos on the AT Community Youtube channel.

This event brought together technologists, journalists, and more from across Europe to shape the future of a cooperative, open social web — grounded in decentralization, user autonomy, and great user experiences. Discussions centered on the Bluesky & AT Protocol ecosystem, exploring new apps, tools, infrastructure, and use cases designed to earn trust from users, organizations, and policymakers.

Videos in this series cover topics ranging from:

  • How Video was implemented in Bluesky

  • How queer communities are finding resilience on the open web

  • Why the open web is good for public discourse

  • New ATproto alternatives to centralized "big tech" apps

  • and more!

We wrote some notes on our Ghost blog after the event last year, and we've added this to a AHOY collection, including the link to browse the original AHOY! site via the Wayback Machine.
